About

It was during the 2013 Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) Medical Student Education Conference that I came to epiphany.

I was a luddite.

After working as a web master, computer repair woman, and audio/visual technician in my college years, I gave up all of my internet and software savvy, along with my hard-won l33t status, to go to medical school. And in the process, much of my life had become sorely inefficient.

At the 2013 STFM MSE I had the pleasure of attending a talk by Dr. Nipa Shah, who spoke about how useful free Google Sites could be in designing your personal clinical eBookshelf. Listening to her talk, I realized that countless students, residents, and faculty like myself were lugging around 20-30 lb white coats (or their far less germ-carrying substitutes) filled with printed references, most of which we could easily access online. After her talk I went home, consulted with my far more 3l1t3 half, and began building my own version of Nipa’s List. Except that this list is targeted at residents and students.

I am grateful for the efforts of so many colleagues and learners who have contributed useful references and also reported broken links on the site over the years.

I founded this web site while a resident at the University of Arizona Family Medicine Residency Program, but it is my hope that this page will be useful to you in your clinical work at whichever university or community program you happen to find yourself. The page is not much more than a link repository, so you should feel free to pilfer to your heart’s content.

And, if you’d like to say thank-you, please send us some of your own oft-used links to help expand the page for others.
